 Hrms... this was a fun and interesting topic but I can't seem to add much.  Not sure what else to talk about at the moment without getting into menial small-talk.

Hmm...I think the first sight I ever gone too, was Tyrn's thats how I knew what I am...a Podophilia and later on knew that I am a Voraphilia too...I looked it up in wikipedia what it means..then tada, I started exploring...^^! I was pretty shocked that very few people even know of us...I told two of my friends what I am, and they just heard that word. I just wondered...if we are so many...how come only the people who are like us and only a very few know us? Hmm...maybe its because we stay hidden right?

 Well i had my first clawed feet fetish when the movie godzilla came out we all know the famous scene im sure   that was wen for definate i knew i was a macro scaly but before that wen i was younger i did like the creatures on cartoons etc but i just dismissed it.

I finally got the internet and i found myself lookin for things with clawed feet then i got all depressed thinkin i was a freak and im alone in the world then one day i found a site girans old site before big clawz gah i cant remember the name of it now think it was somethin lizard feet anyway.

But... even though i found other ppl like me i never signed up i was to afraid for the main reason of my family findin out wen they used the computer etc so all i did was visit look at the pics then leave.

I then discovered lavadome five again i did the same thing i was terrified to join up but saw all posts and i wanted socialise so i signed up and was best thing i done i got to meet ppl who were like me i didn feel isolated ....

but this was not enough it was killin me inside that i had to keep it secret to my friends i knew what i was and i wanted ppl to know i didnt wanna pretend anymore so recently my friend she was online and she could sense i was down about somethin and i kind of hinted theres somethin i need tell u and she wanted to know and after a few beers i just said im a herpetophile i find lizard ppl sexy etc and she was ok with it she said it wasent bad at all .. sorry before i told her i told another friend of mine i met online she was not a scaley or anythin but i told her one day wen she confessed to me she may be bi so i told her about me and we are the best of friends still she gave me the confidence to tell my friends and now i speak openly about it i dont care who knows..
Couple of weeks ago i took a big step *bad pun* of tellin a friend im into clawed feet and vore and she was still ok with it so now what i tell ppl is its not what you like its who you are as long as your a nice person it dosent matter

 Wow, Dinoboy, that really does help give a little bit of encouragement to us I believe.  I, myself, still find it hard to take that first leap.  I'd say it sounds like more of a leap than a step.  Like you're at the edge of a cliff, but there's a spot to jump to just a few feet away but it really just looks like it's gonna collapse if someone else were to get on it.  So far, I've lived with this by myself.  I've told a friend of mine that I'm not into girls or guys and stuff and he was okay with that but I haven't told him I'm a... would we really call ourselves furries I guess?  I've kind of wondered what the definition of a furry is.  I'm into furry art (for obvious reasons) and vore and such, but does that make me a furry?  Back to the main point, I'm just still scared/embarrassed to tell this to really anyone.  I might end up eventually telling a couple of really close friends, it's just that I'm always scared of how someone might react.

I also think it is interesting that even though there's a whole bunch of us out there, nobody really knows about us.  Are we some kind of secret sect that only those who actually feel the same way as us can find?  That's kind of neat to think about to me in a way.  But so far I'm sated with being able to at least talk with others who share my same feelings.  I have heard of some people who keep secrets from those close to them and end up becoming stressed out about it and developing bad conditions with their body.  Example) There was this transvestide guy who was married and he'd never told his wife he was one and supposedly his doctor told him the stress of keeping that secret would eventually kill him or something like that.  Anyways, I'm not really that stressed out about this, it's just more like something I'd rather keep to myself at times so that people can't judge me without knowing me or something like that.

 *Just thought of a cool idea.*  Wouldn't it be neat if we could all have some sort of... gathering or maybe even a voicechat of some sort.  I just think that would be fun.  Not sure what you all would think about that though...

ye thats a nice idea think i suggested it once here there are furry conventions and that it would be nice to meet ppl somewhere and have a get together but some people are really shy about bein seen in public about there affinity which is a shame cos theres some really nice people here i would buy a drink 

 

But i just go ahead and tell people that im a herpetophile if they dont like it they dont have to thats there choice but everyone ive told so far has been ok with it and been curious about it one of the reasons im so open about it now though so if there is another like me who felt isolated like i did if they see someone talkin about scalies and that they will be happy that there not alone you could say im givin a voice for scalies educatin ppl about it and makin the ones who think there alone happy people can call me a freak if they wish lol it dosent bother me because this is who i am and im proud of it 

Thats a good idea! Yeah there are people like us who are very shy...like me.^^! You really told your friend? Wow cool!^^! Well my best friend also understood me, as well as the girl I like, but my third friend I told...well he was ok about it but he doesn't even understand it.XD! I dont think other people should call us freaks, they dont have the right. Who are they to judge the living and the dead?

Anthrocon had over 2800 attendees this year, FurtherConfusion also still had 2500+. I've been to both and it was great fun to meet so many people. And I counted 17 from Faibanx MUCK alone at Anthrocon. So... we sort of have gathering places already.
And, also with such high amounts of people, it is hardly anything THAT secret. In fact I found the whole furry thing has become rather frighteningly wide-spread recently. It is haunting me in my RL.
Actually the furry thing is quite well 'known' though little understood, I found it is without any problems and at most curiosity accepted by those who deal with them in person though gets a lot of bad press otherwise. Common themes include: furries all thinking they are animals, furries all wearing fursuits, furries all trying to look like animals through surgery, furries all only having wild sex orgies and calling it yiffing, furries all being non-heterosexual, and any combination of that. The CSI episode ('the furry rival'?) and some reports of furry cons and interveiws with of course rather special and thus audience-effective individual furries didnt help.

As to 'being a furry'...
Well I certainly am. Though the definition is fuzzy and actually non-existant, and many otherkin claim they are not furry at all, to me furry is the wide field it all falls into, and furry is as furry does.

At any rate, one should likely ask oneself:
If someone has a strong affection to animal characters, likes furry art, likes furry stories, maybe even creates such, goes to furry places on the web, hangs out with furries, goes to furry cons, and is NOT a furry, then who the fuck is supposed to BE a furry then?

Hehehe! Calm down.^^! But I'm not sure if everyone will be able to go to any of the conventions, for some reasons, like it is too far, or we dont have enough money to go there or...we still need a visa something like that...although I want to go, but I need someone to protect me from others....Im just a plain vore and paw, i'm not intrested in other stuff, like enlarge organs and stuff...>.>! But I'm just curious....usually on what country does this convention being held? And are Rogue, Tyrn, 3R and the others go there, and maybe some in this forums as well?^^

Well unfortunately i dont live in the states or anything were most of the conventions are held and if i did go abroad to one i would have to lie to my parents and say im goin for somethin else then they would want pics lol so its quite hard for me to make it to them as i live in chav land (united kingdom)

Yeah, its hard to get a visa going to the states....especially if your from philipines.>.>! I dont think my mom will let me go, since we dont have enough money yet. And I easily get lost.XD

Yakitate...just so you know, we have done LD5 voice conferences before.  ;)  LD5 has it's own phone system, and I actually have given extensions on it to several LD5 users.  Calling is free over the 'net, of course.
