Stock answers from a while back. Here and here: to see them in full overly-HTML formatted glory.

I've been macro since an embarrassingly young age; we're talkin' pre- elementary school. I'd also been working on being a furry pawslut since essentially the beginning with literature like Dr. Seuss's The Foot Book, the Bernstein Bears, Brush, Garfield, Sonic and Tails, Jurassic Park, and, probably most of all, Calvin and Hobbes (would Freud be proud?). The first Pokémon Movie was something that kinda kicked stuff into overdrive for me, Mewtwo becoming my alltime hero (and ofcourse sex-diety, although I didn't know what that meant at the time.) I shortly had all kinds imaginings of him, dozens of stories tall, playing with his small victims in a manner not dissimilar to the one described in the second story in this thread.
When I was old enough I played MechWarriror 2, and did find piloting a huge battlemech somewhat of a thrill, and generally used the sexiest of them all -- what's now known as the MadCat -- to play.
Stage 2 was ofcourse Animorphs followed by the Mossflower -series by Brian Jacques. After that I started roleplaying, and got introduced to a few terms I might need later on: anthro, furre, reverse-articulated. I was actually quite close to the furry subculture and art-scene, but I had no idea, really. I came across a CD that was called something like "Dinosaurs and Dragons Clipart" or something like that. I proceeded to trawl the thing for the art that suited my tastes.
Once there I needed more and did regular google-searches for things like "dragons," "dinosaurs," and stuff like that. I was ofcourse still a raging pawslut and eventually put two and two together in the searchbar and, now with my computer in my own room, I discovered that first wonder: a dirty story on BigClawz by TyrannoToes. At first I was revulsed, and didn't go back for a while, but after that there was really no turning back; I now knew for sure that there were others like me...

I'd always figured that everyone at least at one point or another got off on big critters eating, fighting, or otherwise interacting with smaller ones. With no  knowledge of terminology to label the sprotch-lover's phenomenon, I simply dubbed it "The Godzilla Effect." When I went back to BigClawz I read the clean stories for the longest time (specifically, ToeClaws' series where the main character finds himself in this world with this reptile tribe) before eventually caving in and becoming all corrupt and evil as you'll find me today. I didn't get on LD5 proper for a while because the font was utterly illegible, and so I took it to mean that it was some unrelated host, lending some of its bandwidth to this clandestine little site about dino -paws.
Times progressed and I proceeded to show no sexual interest in girls, or boys... and just never really picked up a 'thing' for humans, and to this day still don't have one. Finally, after a relatively short period of lurking, I joined the main LD5 site and I guess one could call the rest history?

I think that the majority of us are conditioned to be macro by more or less random events, childhood being the primary causation, but there are also plenty of other factors (I've heard of people that have been 'converted' to furrydom after they were 'grown up. ')

I've actually given it quite a lot of thought, and I'm able to figure out where some of my influences come from. For example, one of my favorite books as a kid was called “Stellaluna,” (amazon search that shit!) along with that, I liked Calvin and Hobbes, Garfield, and the Berenstain Bears, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Chip and Dale, The Biker Mice, and "Brush" (not to mention a whole bunch of other ones that I can't name at the moment. ) some of the things that made me all existential/furry in terms of how I view the world and whatnot. (oh, yeah, and both of my parents are veterinarians, in contact with animals, blah, blah. )

The primary reason that I can think of as for my pawslut status. . . I'm thinking that I can thank Dr. Seuss. I'm sure you're all familiar with his "The Foot Book?" That's certainly a culprit, I remember I really liked that one.

I still haven't figured out why the macrodom part comes in, and quite what it was that made me such a fucking sub, all I know as far as that goes was that it struck me right around when Pokémon first started coming into style in the United States, (although I did have some macro tendencies back when Mech Warrior II was still a new game) and definitely after that first Pokémon movie came out. Also, I remember that I was really psyched to see that Americanized Godzilla movie. (Ironically, I just assumed that everybody else had the same inclinations to macro material, just didn't talk about them. )

The first macro porn I actually found was, of course, on Big Clawz, but I was really slow to migrate/navigate to the Lava Dome site, because the font was hard to read and stuff, and it struck me that it was just some generic server site or something, and that the main site didn't have anything to do with macrodom or pawsluttery at all (what does that tell you about your [old] site design, Dino?!)

(...)

Anyway, before this page becomes Live Journal, I better stop.
