Secondtime postus resurrectus!

The day has arrived.

Almost two and a half years later.

The Hannah Montana TV stash at Toys R Us has gone on 90% discount. And one other person has taken the bait so far. And so did I.

I bought my second Hannah Montana CRT TV for $14 yesterday. And this time, I'll do a better job Commodore-izing it!

There were two left at the store. Hrmmmmmmmmmm, last CRT's ever in the history of mankind. $28 more bucks?

Update necropost again! It's been a week or two since I checked, but I saw both of those remaining CRT's disappear the first week, and then the second week -- one was back! I guess some nimrod didn't "realize" it was a big huge CRT and actually took it back!

Anyway, it's been a very slow tail-end to the project. After I had it painted pretty satisfactorily, I had to try and deal with that front panel. The rubber sheeting layered is...okay, but still very rough and ghetto, and the paint is a bit leathery on it, but at least it covers over the ugly controls, plus leaves them usable since the rubber is flexible. Anyway, I finally got around to making a "Commodore 1302D" logo in the style of the original C64 logo and Mod Podge'd it to the front, and worked up a quick "model info" for the back, and...well, I'm calling it good now, as I'm sick of it lingering.

Yeah I can see what you mean about the rubberbit, but otherwise it looks quite keen. You even painted the remote.

I gotta say it's impossible to tell it was ever anything else. I think the overall shape of it seems like something from the 80s. Like maybe an 80s future.

Yeah, it's not exactly a bad style. All of my other Commodore stuff isn't nearly so curvy, but it does go well with an older curved breadbox C64 case pretty well.

Just fired up s'more Commodore gear this weekend...I have a feeling I'll be setting up a Lava Dome III BBS soon.

80s future is the best future.
