The font is quite unreadable for newcomers who are not used to bending their head the right way.
Change the font of the text into a more readable one and I'm 100% behind it all!

If we are adopting the logic that characters affect votes, I might need to point out that I voted no and I have nine characters...

I finally found this post with a bit of difficulty (see attachment), in which I note toward the bottom that I didn't make my way to LD5 proper for a long period simply because of the font and overall appearance of the site.
Now, I figure with an image like the one you posted as a background it would be a little easier for a still-naïve to guess they were not in the wrong place, but navigation I still think would be tough. Hell, the only reason I can read what it says now is because I already know approximately what to expect to be there.

I vote for a JS-flip that will change the links to normal text on mouseover. That way you could keep your super-slick funky text, and still retain navigability. Also some plaintext links at the bottom for the main-sections is always a good call no matter what the page.

*checks search for the too common term* Boy, phpbb sure has its flaws. Well at least you can find things in it usually to customize them, so once I have time again (tm) I might see to finding that list of too common words and kill it.

Well, since I got voted down and therefore got lazy, Blue's made at least an interim web front page for LD5 that shows off Rex's art.

Yeah, and Dino got tired so wentto bed before I could tweak it properly, which may admittedly take a bit longer.

I guess we'll still have to see if we expand the realm of influence of the php code to the entire page so we can use its stylesheet magic and stuff everywhere, or if I just haxxxor the banner to look like it does here.

Either way, it will be good and there will be much rejoicing.
