...as in physical! Yes, after months of anguish -- and believe you me, I'm never, EVER going to buy another house again -- I am now finally living last century's Amerikan dream of home ownership. I'm giving myself until the end of October to move everything over, but I have a feeling that we'll probably be moving the last of our stuff sometime mid-month.

According to my phone/data service provider, I can give them about 2 days heads up, and I can just move my equipment over to the new place on a set day, so hopefully there will only be a few hours of LD5 downtime as a result of the move.

And no, we will not become Lava Dome Six. We're not moving out of the same city, not even very far across town. :)

All we can hope is that everything goes well. =3
Seeing this is LD5 and not Furaffinity, I'm sure of it. =P

Huzzah for home ownership. ^^ Hopefully the move goes smoothly. Also hopefully it is a place you can easily afford. :3

Living within your means is SUPER AWESOME.

Yeah, it's only a few hundred more bucks a month than my current rental. Gave myself all of October to move, so not under the gun, but wanna get it done in maybe 2 more weeks.

What is the raptor-to-resident ratio in your new part of town?

Did you already plan the dinosaur garden?

A backyard and frontyard are things that are ignored while I hole up inside my cave. NO GARDENS. Bad enough I gotta mow it! :)

And the big server move is tomorrow, Friday the 12th of Ocktobah. ISP said it could be switched over anytime between 8am and 5pm, so I'll be taking the day off to pack and to handle the server move.

Provided you're permitted to, tear up all the grass on the lot! ^^ Wasteful stuff, that. Plant some hardy shrubs instead, and gravel pathways / concrete. Far more useful, and you don't have to mow concrete. :D

By the way, big server move is now Tuesday, and considering how destroyed things might get, I may not have LD5 back up until Wednesday. :)

Great news! ISP didn't yank me around, and we're up and running at the new place! All systems look good. Now to move over the fifty metric tons of crap we still have at the old place...movers arrive tomorrow morning! :)

Maybe Blue can warm your new house in his own SPECIAL WAY...

That doesn't sound very sanitary.

Now, now, I'm sure Diablo means he'd put me in his well-loved and well-worn claw slippers to keep me warm.

....hrm, that's probably not very sanitary either, though. :)

First night sleeping in the new house, first shower, first new commute...I feel like a million kruft! ;) Still tons of work to do at the old and new places (still a garage full of crap at the old place), but at least...I think I'm finally over the last huge hurdle. Now just need to get crap out of the old house by the end of next week.

Still need to hard-wire the upstairs computers -- and set up the upstairs computers -- at the new place, but may get that done tonight.

And our most beloved kitty, Cindie, the last survivor of the old regime, she's handling the place surprisingly well. Lastlackey recently moved into a new home, too, and his cat spent the entire first night under the bed. Cindie did do underbed time, but only an hour or two. Still all wacked out, but slept with us* all night. I think the idea of a two-story house has completely blown her mind. "There's a third dimension? And I can move in it? Like...on my own?" :)

*Jenn informs me she must have made a billion "sorties" on and off the bed to explore.
