Those are the Drakonids, and they're not rare at all, really. They can be found in nearly all places that have heavy dragonkin population, and they can be friendly or hostile. And yes, they have full animations. I'd probably be able to post some short clips of the animations if the WoW Model Viewer application was working. Problem is, it needs to be updated every time the game gets a new patch/expansion, and that hasn't happened yet. Even with the low polygon count, they're fun to watch.
