Just a note to everyone that sometime this weekend, unless there are Unforseen Consequences(tm), the LD5 server will be off for an hour or two while I move it over to fresh shiny new hardwares. The process is very low risk and I've done it lots of times before, but even if something does go pear-shaped I have an easy fallback plan. Once this bulk transfer is done, there will be some minor (10 minute type) outages in the weeks to come as I fiddle with stuff, but nothing major.

Note to self, make sure Dino goes pear shaped over the weekend. :3

No, pear shaped is supposed to be one of those BAD British terms, isn't it? :) And got the RAID card in today...kinda wanted to put in 16 gigs of RAM instead of 8, but as the TV show goes, eight is enough, technically. :) Everything looks like a go for weekend virtualization.

Pear shaped is an amazing term - leave it alone!

If you have to pick on something, pick on spinosaurs.

When you say "pear-shaped" it reminds me of a statistical normal distribution using the Empirical Rule (68-95-99.7) with a bell-shaped curve. :?

Math is verboten! Anyway, I'll probably do the magical server virtualization late tonight, so if the Dome be down, you be knows why!

Well, the virtualization of the main server has been completed! I've cleaned up some of the software, updated a bit, installed a different anti-virus program, but I'll hold off on a server OS patch/upgrade until the next time I feel like updating stuff. All in all, the process went pretty well. I'll keep my eye on things, naturally. :)

Well I'm glad to hear everything went smoothly, Dino. As opposed to pair-shaped. :)

News Flash!

Dinosorceror was found outside the dome today, ballooning up to immense sizes! When asked for comment as to his complete lack of wee'ness, his only answer was to squeak and sputter with rage. A very large red dragon was seen fleeing the scene cackling maniacally, mumbling something about how server upgrades must be fattening.

Image

As was expected by some, the Dinosorceror has gone pear shaped. Well, perhaps a little beyond pear shaped. Boy, look at him go! At this rate, he'll only be able to hide in Megamacro slippers. ;) And even that might be a squeeze.

He'd better get used to being big. This stuff tends not to wear off quick. :D

(Note from the Dragon: I have no idea if I got his colors right! I was working off OLD media I had stashed around here of the *formerly* wee dinosaur. Hopefully I got it right!)

Muahahahaha.

Well... nobody knows what Dino looks like. He's much to small to see that.

Hay! HAY! M'h---no, NO, that's not right! :)

Very funny, Tombfyre. :) Now I'm gonna pop on the next raptor that passes by!

I have discovered that I can make server freeze up for 30 seconds by signing on to it. Oh, what a wonderful virtual world we live in! :)
