I don't like making these kind's of threads. But I would like to inform my buddies at Faibanx with one fell swoop -such is why I posted this here- that my computer is down so I won't be around for a while. Which is a kick to the testicles seeing as the foundations to my home has been built.
Take care until then.

Remember, I live in a virtual computer store, so let me know if you need any help. :)

Hmmm, ah yes that's right!

You see Dino, when my cat was a kitten, it was one from hell, and it chewed on the cord to my laptop's battery charger. Well we repaired it ourselves nice and well, but it started acting up again, I would have to wiggle the cord to keep it alive. Foolishly, I didn't wait for my brother and tried to tackle it myself, prefering to be self-reliant when possible, and blacktaped it where I saw It would work.

Well now out of the blue while I was on it, it just crapped out. The screen showed strange lines like a malfunctioning NES, and went blank. From then on, when I would turn it on, it shows those lines in the startup, but doesn't even get to the log-in screen. My brother says that it was from the wrong wires touching and somehow, it got into the system. We are thinking about bringing it in to a proffessional this week, hoping he can find something.

But before I do, Dino. Do you know if there is hope for my laptop?

Usually a failed boot is one of two things, either the power supply is boned, or the motherboard is turfed. With the notebook in mind, and so many things being integrated, it could be that there's some damage to the mobo. I'd really have to actually see what its doing to know for sure.

As chunky as the damage sounds, yeah, probably not worth putting money into the laptop. You could just get a USB enclosure or dock for the hard drive in the old laptop to transfer the data on the drive to something else, as it sounds like there's a good chance the drive is still good.
