Hiya everybody, RipRoarRex stopping by with more artwork!

For whatever reason, it's become a curious tradition of mine to try and submit a piece of art on New Years Eve - something which, with the exception of 2008, I have done every year since 2007. And I'm not about to stop now.

;)

Following on from last week's Timon comic, I've been going through a bit of a Disney phase recently, trying my hand at replicating the style and drawing some of my favourite characters. With any luck there will be a few more examples to come, but for this year's final submission, I decided to go down The Jungle Book route.

Strictly speaking, I have depicted Baloo once before, though I didn't really make a good fist of it - some might remember my rather crude animation loop of Baloo stomping a mouse in December 2007, but given that only his foot was visible, you could be forgiven for not recognising the subject! Four years on therefore, I have made my first genuine attempt to draw the character. However, rather than throwing another generic animal in with him, I wanted to keep the picture within the world of the Jungle Book by choosing Kaa as his victim instead.

As with the Timon comic, I wanted to stay as faithful as possible to the original Disney styling. Thankfully Kaa is absurdly easy to draw, and Baloo wasn't too tricky either - though sadly I don't think I quite got the foreshortening effect right, hence his head looks rather small in proportion with the rest of his body! Still, the biggest challenge was the background; I had been fairly loose with the background on the Timon comic, but this time I was striving to create something that looked much more like a proper Disney animation cel, so I studied a few Jungle Book layouts before attempting to compile my own interpretation. Given how concerned I was that it wouldn't look right, I'm actually very happy with the results.

Anyway, that's it from me for 2011; a year which I'll be quite happy to see the back of given that I spent most of it unemployed - and that Ipswich Town were diabolically crap again throughout! Whilst I have severe doubts that you'll be seeing much artwork from me in 2012, I would like to thank everybody for your comments, favourites, shouts etc. over the past year and I wish you all the very best for the next 12 months.

Happy New Year, Everyone!

:coffee: :slipper: :claw:

--------------------

Kaa might be well known throughout the jungle for his hypnotic techniques, but he soon discovers that a few hours in the company of Baloo's hot, tired feet can have an equally mesmerising effect.

Once, again, Rex, just spot on, as you Brits say. :) I don't think Baloo's head is overly small for the effect, looks just fine t'me. And such effort into the background!

I think I will, however, address one thing I've been noticing recently in ftink art. (See, it's like stink, but written ftink like they used to in the 18th century, plus it's foot stink, so it works! I'm a genius!) It's the guilt! I see lots of ftink art these days around, and the arr-teests are always making "clean" versions, and...I don't even see anyone asking! Has anyone ever asked? Or is for some reason liking musky stink even more of a guilty pleasure than getting off to furry/toon feet? :)

Just...think it's interesting. I always find it interesting when people are already enjoying a guilty pleasure, but then there are even more guilty levels of it that are even more whispered and secret. I was the same way, of course, and still am in certain regards CONE OF SILENCE

:slipper: I like stinky slippers! Mind you, like everything else, I don't like all stinky slippers. I'm as picky about stink as I am about feet! And now that I see art that's obviously making stink the main thing for people -- heck, I've seen art of people being turned into stink, I think that's fucking awesome that it evolved that way for some people -- I think it's time to drop some of the taboo. Look who we are already, people! :)

Sorry, must just be a New Year's Ramblethot™. :)

Very nicely done again, RRR - it's a great pose and the characterisation is spot on with this one too!

To join in Dino's engaging New Year's discussion about the guilt of having stink fixations, I think the amount of guilt felt by the fetishist is just down to the intensity with which other people dislike the fixation. Whether it's stinky, sweaty feet, scat and watersports, cub porn - they're all completely harmless as sexual fantasies, but some will turn people off a lot more violently (and vocally) than others.

Unless you genuinely don't give a fuck what people think of you (no, really), you'll feel bad when you see a load of opinions saying how revolted they are by your fetish, and just because you've survived non-furry scorn by admitting to having a furry fixation doesn't mean the scorn from other furries won't be just as bad if you reveal an even more obscure fetish that they, in their stupid furry hypocrisy, don't like. It would probably be worse, actually, because the furries are supposed to be YOUR people, and now they're the ones telling you how revolting you are.

I guess ideally people should just accept and freely admit to liking whatever they like, but in practise, because we're mostly judgmental of fetishes for one reason or another, it gets harder as the fetishes get more likely to offend.

That double-asphyxiation combo technique is vicious. Downright cruel. Lower than a snake's... well, you know. But considering what Kaa did, I reckon he's justified.

Rebounding on Diablo's point, I think most of the outrage stems from people (by which I mean the complainers) blurring the line between sexual fantasy and general worldview. As I've explained before, I have no idea why stomping makes me so giddy, so I assume people with more obscure kinks can't explain their origins either. We're in the same boat, so why bother poking holes?

"It is the mark of an educated mind to entertain a thought without accepting it" said Aristotle. We've accepted our fondness for feet, and harness that power for our own private enjoyment, while our day-to-day lives are unaffected. Unfortunately, the vocal minority of furs and non-furs alike don't know that. This is why fetishes mirroring illegal activities take all the heat. Unable to grasp the full scope of one's connection to a kink from the evidence they've stumbled on, they assume the worst. They fear what they don't understand. And as we all know, fear turns to anger, anger leads to hate...

Long story short, this video.

Heh - this is why one has to enjoy places like LD5. A picture is posted, and an in-depth discussion emerges about the wider perception of stinkfoot fetishes!

For starters, I should explain my motivation. I myself am a total slut for musky feet, as my gallery has no doubt shown over the years. However, I have actually been frequently asked to post alternative versions without musk because, whilst it heightens the enjoyment of the picture for some, it apparently spoils it for others. As such, I have recently adopted a tendency for creating musky and clean versions to suit all parties, even if I am generally inclined towards the more pungent ones.

Is it something I'm ashamed of? Well not really - in truth, I'm much more hesitant about my hard crush fetish than I am about the whole musk thing. Start throwing crimson crunches into the bargain and there are plenty of people prepared to call you 'sick'. Indeed, it is one of the absurd ironies one finds within the fandom that there can be persecution of sub-communities for being 'weird'. I know not everyone would agree with my point of view, but I personally believe furry as a whole is a bit weird and anyone who protests against such status is in denial! The issue isn't whether your fetish is 'normal' or not - it's whether you are comfortable with it.

Besides, to call something a 'conventional fetish' is surely a misnomer. The only reason many people think bondage or S&M isn't so weird is because they've seen it on TV!! If they had more exposure to foot fetishism, or furry fetishism, or furry foot fetishism, they probably wouldn't freak so easily!

Anyways, many thanks for the comments, folks. Always appreciated!
