Hi everyone,
RipRoarRex here enjoying an extended weekend away from university which has blessed me with some rare free time!
Having
previously revealed my secret crush for Alan-a-Dale (AKA 'The Rooster' from Disney's Robin Hood), I thought I'd take this opportunity to go one step further and have a go at drawing everyone's not-so-secret crush from that particular movie - Robin Hood himself.
I know some people would probably have preferred that I draw this the other way around, but I really wanted to capture somebody worshipping the rooster's feet. Even so, I tried my best to sneak in a good sole shot of Robin as well. And yes, I know it's not everybody's cup of tea, but I just had to put some sweat in there too; adds to the flavour, don't ya know...
As with most of the other Disney characters I've been drawing in the past couple of months, I'd never drawn Robin before. His face was a little tricky and I struggle to feel comfortable with the cartoony proportions of his limbs, but I think it turned out okay. It's difficult to know what sort of feet he should have as well, but I've seen others draw them like this before and I quite like the idea.
Again, I tried to get the characters themselves to look as close to the original styling as possible. Much like the last time I drew Alan-a-Dale though, I decided to go for a colouring style closer to my own rather than the simple toning used by Disney.
Oh, and lazy background. Didn't want to waste any more time with that - and besides, why bother when all the good stuff is in the foreground?
Anyway, it's back to the usual grind by Wednesday so I doubt there'll be many more drawing opportunities like this during term time. But hopefully this will keep folks entertained in the meantime!
