Hi guys, RipRoarRex back again.

This is it, folks - this is probably gonna be the last piece from what has been a very busy September for me. I'm back at uni next month, so the art work-rate is probably going to drop quite significantly, but I wanted to squeeze out one more piece before the end of my holidays. I've been in a bit of a horsey mood in the last couple of days, and seeing as I've done hardly any work with Marco in the last year, I thought it was about time he got back in on the act.

This one is a little more light-hearted, so I thought I'd keep it cartoony. Don't worry, it might look harsh, but I'm sure Mike will be absolutely fine! Lol! I dunno what it is, but there's something about big powerful horses stomping through mud that just gives me a warm feeling inside, so I couldn't resist making it look like it had just been raining before the two of them came out.

Oh, and before someone says "ooh, Mike's jodhpurs aren't quite right" or "oh, that bit of riding paraphernalia is missing a buckle" or something like that, please bear in mind that my interest in horse-riding only extends as far as watching a stallion pushing his cold hard shoes down into his rider's back.

 Lol!

Mike asked Marco if he could saddle him up and go for a ride...

...Marco thought it was the funniest thing he'd ever heard.

Thanks, Dino! I have to say, I think it's the best I've ever drawn Marco.

:)

I agree, that's an impressive horse-ness there! And very great effect on the background and rained mud, it looks perfectly like a lovely lush european rural countryside, which somehow always adds a nice tingling of medieval flair for me. Very nice even though the hills (especiallay the at the right near the bottom) seem just a little steep. It sure looks just a nice tad british overall, too. ;)
Its once again a very strong and pleasant to to the eye picture at I find, juicy picture. And yeay, even more variety with hoof stompings now! :D

Not to be a bastard but, I think Marco's body length is a bit too small. :\ But all-in-all it is still a great piece.

Do you mean the 'body length' between his hind legs?
;)

I don't think that is what ESC is referring to, Blue, but I'm with you on that. Looking at it, I should've drawn at least a hint of his underside going between the legs.

I believe, ESC, that you were referring to the length of his body between his front legs and his hind legs. I know what you mean, but I have to say that I did originally draw it longer and it simply didn't look right - I think it's because I did his front end at a slight 3/4 angle which meant that his body should be shorter. The only trouble is, Mike isn't at a 3/4 angle at all, so technically they don't really match.

Thanks for the pointers anyway, guys.

I don't think the steepness of the hill is too bad, but I did rush it a little bit if I'm honest. I did want to make it look very English though; even though I always imagine my characters with American accents, it's quite nice to put them in a setting I'm familiar with.

This picture reminded me of the guy who loves trampling by horses on youtube.

Yes, I was doing an understatement there, it looks QUITE english. :D
And it also looks can do without penis. Just my trying to be funny. Of course he meant things between a different set of legs. :)

Lol - well the latter would immediately reduce the number of people this picture could be deemed suitable for viewing by, wouldn't it!

Why did I misread the subject name as "macro" and not "marco"? :)
