Something of an experiment; my first time using Photoshop's pen tool for inking line art. Makes for some super crispy lines (something I've always had trouble with on paper, or freehand on the graphics tablet), but damn is it slow! (and boring.) Took me several hours spread over 3 days, but might be faster if I get some more practice.

It's not entirely accurate, but it's my Godzilla and I can do what I want with it. Based loosely on the Godzilla 2000 suit, the one with the extra spikey back plates and ribbed neck. But with digitigrade feet instead of plantigrade. And there was no way I was going to do the tree-trunk skin texture in line art. The right foot is supposed to be raised slightly (hence it looks to be in front or level with the left foot when it should be behind), however, it needs a ground shadow to make it more obvious.

So, taking a joke from a Tank Girl comic, first sketch a rough outline with general proportions and features.

And then ink the bastard!

Looks nice!

Photoshop really is a good software to use if you like crisp, sharp things, however, not as "natural" as pen/pencil/brush-on-paper, though.

That turned out pretty rawrsome!
I find it interesting that the inked version gives a totally different style and flair then the sketched one.
And... its a very handsome godzilla compared with a lot of original ones. :)

Looks good Aeon.
I like the proportions. He's a tiny bit hunched over, like Godzilla. I think it may be the neck not really having much of a collar that makes me think that.
Those of you out there quietly viewing, COMMENT!

Wow, he came out looking great, fully inked!

I really like the way you do claws with that little ridge on top. Awesome stuff!

I think the changes worked out well. Awesome interpretation of a classic character.

And you really did ink the bastard.
