Certainly not...it's wonderfully chunky!

It is! You certainly put a lot of detail and realism into you pics and character portraits, making them very credible. Like those belts and buckles. It is something that a lot of famous artists fail at in many of their pictures, likely because they dont want to invest so much time into getting supposedly minor things like that right, either because the next commission is waiting or because they dont care so much about the picture and character in question.
The chainmail came out nice too.

Yeah I know all too well what you mean, Blue. Its why I sorta...left it backgroundless. I have other things in mind, and was itching to produce a pic of Aleihr in his full assault gear.
That being:
- Mail hauberk (coat), gauntlets, and chauses (leg protection)
- Lamellar vest
- Splinted bracers and greaves
- Iron rimmed round shield
- Gjermundbu spectacled helm, with aventail (mail hood that is riveted on)
- Arctic Vigilance, his mighty sword!
- Bearded waraxe. That's its haft protruding from his back.

As for the other things in mind. I'm preparing for a big project and I want it to be so well done, that I want to do a series of conceptual pics for it first.
