Wow, those are some mighty fine saurian paws, AA! Your textures are looking fantastic, but from a pad obessive's point of view I'd definitely recommend giving those pads some actual definition on the mesh itself. I painted them onto my raptor model and they ended up looking too flat...

I still don't know how you manage such detailed textures without exploding Maya! Do your characters maintain that level of texture detail over the whole mesh?

I tried making polygon pads for it initially, but found them to 'peel off' when the foot flexes, Although I might try again later with better ones.
Textures are proceedurals so they don't really take up too much memory, however, the largest scales are drawn on by hand. And they use a 2048x2048 texture.
Speaking of blowing up maya, Yes this model does have an unpleasent tendency to cause 'out of memory' crashes if you render at resolutions higher than 1280x1080.
