Kind of a dumb question, you'd think this would be easy!

Buuut, I've been thinking about it lately. Mostly because people for some reason find my taste in macro smuttery baffling, and I've had to struggle with explaining myself. I don't think it's always a nice, easy answer, and I'm not really looking to explain away all the weirdness in my head with just one thing. There are lots of kinks that I've added on over the years, of course, and there's lots of angles to take just about anything in macro. It's a delightfully diverse fetish. I know there was a poll about what kinks we like, but in a way I think stuff like that doesn't really describe a whole lot of the true motivations.

Anyway, for me it's mostly about causing fear. No matter what else is going on, that seems to be something that is constantly in the fantasies I create. Gentle fantasies, cruel fantasies, it doesn't matter. Whether I'm a giant dragon little guys fear and I'm trying to get them to trust me, or I'm a giant dragon teaching little guys to fear me because I'll stomp on them, the one thing that's the same is the little guys quaking in their boots. Now, I guess this is different from being directly attracted to bigness, because just the image of size juxtaposition doesn't do it for me. Dragon bigger than planet, building the size of my toe, that's not really something that can get me going. It's also distinct from enjoying causing pain, because that doesn't really have to be present either. I thought of this because I recently played a demon dragon who was the same size as a human who summoned me (the idea being to get big later) and even at the same size I was turned on by simply being menacing. Meanwhile, an RP where it was mostly descriptions of me being larger than buildings wasn't really doing much for me.

Maybe also you could say some of it is just plain interaction, plot, dialogue, and situation. I really like talking, probably another thing stemming from just liking the emotional and fear side of it on the whole more than the physical side.

Anyway. That's weird me.

I'm certainly not against it, but usually it has to be in service of my main kink. ^^; I'm not sure why I feel a little embarrassed here of all places, but I guess that just means I'm getting to the truth.

Example: My growth fantasies tend to be situations where there is someone panicking because me growing means they're uh...rapidly running out of room.

Confined spaces are fun places to expand. ^..^ And yes, a little panic can be entertaining. That and awe, or reverence.

I agree with the whole "it's not just about size" philosophy.

I can definitely relate to your 'causing fear' theme, but personally, I'd have summarised it as 'domination'. If one creature is physically superior to another, whether it's gentle or hostile, the idea of the smaller creature being afraid of (or just playfully intimidated by) the larger one is at the heart of my fantasies too!

Having an obscene clawfoot fetish has also sort of led to that manifesting as trample-oriented domination, mostly, but that's just the topmost layer. Domination and bodily superiority are what do it for me

I am pretty much your classic, if hardcore, masochist. The idea of my own physical, mental and spiritual destruction ist what thrills me. I am not at all a macrophile, but size is a tool to me - a larger creature can provide different forms of physical obliteration than a smaller one is able to, which, to me, doesn't make the larger one "better" though: A gigantic dragon can absolutely pulverize a victim under his stomping tread, while a 250 pounds heavy lizardman might not be able to utterly flatten said victim, but give its body parts a much more detailed trample torture.

I actually started out in various guro/snuff circles before I joined LD5 and similar places, but quickly noticed that my *very* strongly built out trampling fetish is right at home here. I don't limit myself to just reptiles/dragons/dinosaurs though. I had run ins with anthro sharks, slime monsters, robots, gryphons, giant insects, garbage compactors, radioactive pools, circular saws... the list is endless.

What a fitting end for your rival or the person you hate the most, for them to be shrunken and then forced into footslavery until you tire of their existence and crush them like the bug they truly are.

I love the realization of it. How they're truly nothing, while you are quite literally a god to them. It's tasty to say the least.

As a subby-type, I'm also very much into the feeling of having someone controlling me. In my case, smell is a big part of my fantasies - the idea that the dom knows their feet are unclean and musky, and gets a kick out of subjecting you to it. When combined with my crush fetish, there's nothing that gets me more than the thought of a dominant scaly type threatening to crush me if I do not yield to him forcing me to indulge in the foulness of his feet... only for him to crunch me up anyway when he feels I have been humiliated enough.

I have summarized it as domination before, but sometimes people still don't get it. I also think maybe my point should have been more just the highlighting of the emotional vs. physical aspect, because like Seika said part of it is fear, part of it is humiliation, but at the heart everything sexy is what is in the dom's mind and what is in the sub's mind taken as a whole. The superiority and the inferiority. The physical reality of being big is the catalyst, but it's the inner feeling that I find sexy. To put it more clearly, I'd say what the characters say and think is more important than what they do, to me. Although obviously what they do leads to the saying and the thinking.
