Heya Domers,
RipRoarRex here, stopping by with a bit of a novelty pic.
As most are no doubt aware, I'm a big football (soccer) fan. Some may remember a picture I drew a couple of years ago called '
Pride of Anglia' involving my favourite team, Ipswich Town, and our local rivals Norwich City, who had been relegated to Football League One that summer. The picture depicted the Ipswich mascot (a big white horse) taunting the Norwich mascot (a little canary) in celebration of our superiority over them at the time.
Well, it's safe to say that in the two years since I posted that picture, everything has gone
wrong for Ipswich, and everything has gone
right for Norwich. So much have the tables turned in fact that whilst Ipswich have gone absolutely nowhere, Norwich City not only won the League One title but are now celebrating their second successive promotion to the Premier League - meaning
we are now inferior to
them.
Yeah. Okay,
karma, very subtle...(!)
I don't mind swallowing my pride, so with the aim of restoring some balance to the universe, I have drawn a new, updated version of 'Pride of Anglia' - a sequel, if you will, with roles reversed to reflect the unfortunate power shift in East Anglian football since the original version.
Ladies and Gentlemen: I bring you
Pride of Anglia II.
