Rawr!

Hi allll, it's been while since I flew across to this wonderful place, though I have been looking on every now and then. I just haven't logged in in aaggggesss!

Anyway so yea I decided to post these two pictures up

The first is a quick doodle I did for Ahastar, and in turn practicing on a new paw look. So far I am happy :D

The second is of my new draconic concept drawing, which has be re-vamped from my previous look, to look far more regal, nefarious and dangerous.

Have a good one guys! I shall post more work soon :D

I told you a few times in private, and I will gladly do it again here: I find it pretty amazing how quickly you (and Ravenclaw, too), managed to get a grip on your tablets! With you though I find it even more surprising, because /usually/ people that started out as 3D artists have a tough time adapting to 2D art.

Certainly not you though, from what I have seen in the last few months.
And I really dig your redesign, of course! And the raptor stalking!

(and the pawprint comparsions in the sand)

That are some very awesome paws. Very well and credibly drawn.
And probably very sexy, but I wouldn't know. :)

I agree with the others regarding your swift rise to fabulousness. You're also officially banned from deciding you're too cool for school and then leaving us entirely.

I gather for lines using a tablet, host-programs are really just a matter of preference; however, I'd love to know what you're using for "colour"/filling/shading as in your second pic, there.

Thankyou very much :)

Basically my main tools for the second picture, and for all the pictures I do are all done in Photoshop Cs4 (For grayscaling I find Paint Tool Sai also really easy to use!)

I might as well just post the quick steps that I do:

1. Lineart, basic outline of the drawing
2.Fill the drawing in a solid grey color ( if it's a grayscale painting)
3. I create one layer called "Darks" and another called "Light"
4. For "darks" I shade recklessly and messy with a normal round brush (about 5% opacity on a solid BLACK color) and just darken and shade the bits that are Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaark :)
5. I do the same with lights, just go nuts :)
6. Refine darks and lights :)

My tips for achieving better quality shading, PRETEND YOUR A PROFESSIONAL :). You feel cool and you feel confident, and it makes everything just seem more a;ahkdfjghdf;kgaha;kdjfhga. (fun) It's not arrogance, it's just trying different methods :)
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay :claw: :claw: :claw: :claw:

I love both of them! Especially the detail put into them! How long did they take to do?

Very cool colouring style on the second one. And as for the first one, am I the only one who kinda hopes these sketches of Ahastar will continue along a bit more of a storyline?...

Good stuff, Dark-Danny!
