He's not cute, he's supposed to be giant and stompy! :)

Actually, gives me a chance to mention that since it seems there are a few mystery people who've actually bothered to not only sign on but to dicker with content, I'll probably set up some more "real" spaces for people to view/futz with, containing actual stompy models to work on in the very near future.

I just hopped onto there for a bit, and started trying to use the skeleton tool to set up the basic shape of a small dragon I was working on.. but then the program got drunk or something and started randomly moving and rotating and crippling it when I was almost done. till I gave up and deleted it :(

I'll probably give it a shot again later, but I'll need to look at the tutorials first.

Well, I'm frankly shocked that the server is still running! As flakey and beta and not-ready-for-prime-time as that software was before the company went tits up, I'm really surprised it's still running.

Of course, I still need to put up some kinda relevant model up there for people to view and modify. Maybe this afternoon. Mayyyyyyyyyybeeeeee :waterboat:

Hey, shock and awe! Guess what?

trueSpace, and by extension trueServe, are...

...complete and utter worthless pieces of shit!

Not only can you not import...like, anything into the program, but you can't even export anything! I tried exporting (to one of the few formats it apparently will attempt to export to, .X) that stock dino figure to .X, and none of my other programs would touch it.

It's no wonder Caligari died. I mean, what the fuck? Even the older versions, circa 6 (this is 7.6 now) used to at least do a crummy job of .X import and export. But trueSpace 7.6 is just a bona-fide runny turd, it really is.

I guess I'll keep the 3D server running...I mean, about the only thing you can do in it is maybe use the software itself to create a 3D avatar to move around and chat with...whoop-de-doo!

I'm glad I didn't waste too much time on it. I mean, sure it took me forever to do it, and I was just determined to make that turd sail, but my feeble efforts only amounted to about 6 hours of real time labor. Just...spread out over 3 months. :)

Feel free to connect and do whatever...I'm done trying to polish this particular turd. Better to look into plugins...shit, BUILD a plugin for Blender that allows networking collaboration.

Well that's a bit of a letdown. ^^() Protip though, if you want to build avatars and stand around talking to one another, you can log onto Second Life. :D

Still, trueServe was an amusing idea.

If work ever continues, anyone'll be able to run it.

o.=.o how's this project going along?

I wonder if we care about having a 3D furry thingy anymore. If anything, we should at least combine some ideas together on what to use and do.
