Hi guys, RipRoarRex with some more art.

Not much to say about this one, really. I was just in the mood for some King Koopa chunky-footed squishyness, so I put this together over the course of an afternoon. It harkens back to a more enjoyable time for me in some ways, because this is all my art used to be; simple to do, but fun to look at. I've been busy back at uni lately so keeping it simple is probably a good thing in the meantime. That is why this one is just cell shaded and not particularly detailed, but I'm sure there are plenty of people who will enjoy looking at it.

King Koopa trampling some tiny creatures... and rather enjoying himself in the process.

Yes, very nice.
Even without the little figures the legs and feet would look huge and heavy just the same, and I like your cartoon style in that very much. Brings back memories of hatchling days.

Heh - it does indeed. I mainly did it in this style because it was simpler for me within my current time constraints, but I hope it looks nice in itself.

Thanks for the comments, guys!

I must say, I'm liking the curvature of the hips more than the feet... or most anything else here. Don't get me wrong, the overall proportions are great, and giving it smoother shading or a scaly texture wouldn't make much difference. This one just doesn't "click" with me. How to put this... it looks less like Koopa and more like Rexar in a Koopa costume.

That, and your one picture per month is still way better than my absolute zero. -_-

Well I've undoubtedly strayed from Koopa's original limb proportions, because they're just too short and stubby for me, so I gave him slightly more Rexar-ish proportions but just chubbier. In any case though, I fundamentally think I subconsciously developed my design for Rexar all those years ago from King Koopa (I often comment on their facial similarities), so in my view there are enough inherent similarities to prevent the two ever looking unique in my style.

Very nice!
What kind of creature is this King Koopa ? He looks like both a lizard and a tortoise.
:) And how long time did you take to draw this picture?

Lol - he is neither. He is a koopa.

In case you didn't know, koopas are turtle-like enemy creatures from the Mario games (see Koopa Troopa, Wikipedia). King Koopa is merely, as his name suggests, the king of the koopas. Alternatively, depending on what game or TV show you refer to, Bowser is the king of the koopas. Technically King Koopa and Bowser are the same character, but I would argue that they are each entirely different and unique entities in their own right.

 I sound mad. Lol!

Not very long actually, or at least not for me. I think the sketch took about an hour and a half. The digital editing and colouring probably took about 3 hours. Can't remember exactly now, but that's quick by my slow standards.

Oh, I see. :)
This Koopa is drawn as your style. I have thought Koopa is like that in the picture I put on.
And you can draw such a nice picture in such short time, great!

There's dozens of versions of Bowser / King Koopa. (Although someone who actually ever played any Something Mario Something is probably a better source of telling you so than I am. :D )

There was a cartoon seires one that looked pretty close to the one drawn (and that I actually liked best), namely that colors with a nice, slightly olive, green skin and very cuddly-godzilla looking. There's even shots of its macro episode at that macro (-furry) -characters-and-animals-in-cartoons fanpage.

Aye, the Koopa featured above was the common form for the old super mario cartoon shows, and other assorted media. The video game versions of Bowser were always different, even though it was supposed to be the same person. He's always had an addiction to getting bigger it seems, as its a common boss-situation in all the games. ^^ Plus yeah, in the cartoon show he went macro once, and was always trying to be huge prior to that.

Hell, he even got inflated a few times. :3
