Well... I'm very friendly and my character, my dragon Mike too. I do love scaly feet and Mike too.

But you know, I think most of the people's characters reflect their personality a bit so, it's a bit normal that the things you like, your character likes it as well.

One more vote over here for the character being an extension of myself. In my case, he is closer to what I would like to be rather than what I am. There is some hyperbole as well: I'm shy with some martial arts skills, he's mute with badass swordsmanship. As far as dominant versus submissive, both are evident, but only in terms of martial arts. Not... marital arts.

I certainly don't bother seriously with a harem of characters, so my online persona is a direct extension of me, it is me.

My RL three heads are just the same as online.

Seriously though, anyone who knows me knows I'm the most OOC person you can meet online, so the dragon is just me, myself and I for the most part.

Yes, the vast majority of furries has a single character that they are strongly related and attached to, no matter if they call it character or whatever, that pretty much reflects their personality and feelings, something they like, something they'd like to be, or something they feel they are.
Much to the dismay of some hardcore otherkin and non-otherkin furs that would like to draw a clear line between furry and otherkin (or whatever the ones in question call themselves), because they so clearly are not as sick as the others and totally different. :D

For myself I must say my chacacter is pretty much me, and I'd like most of the things he likes as well. With what Blue likes to do it with mind you, not with any human too! When I give a sexy dragon a blowjob, I'd like that irl too, but with a DRAGON, not with any random guy. (Being human and claiming you are really a dragon does NOT count!!!)
I couldn't be much different, it wouldn't feel right.

Well I play characters that I'd want to interact with as a human, so they are deliberately not like me!

C'mon, A! I know you have it in you to squick the shit out of all of us if you want. Let it all hang out; everyone knows you've been savin' up all this time! ^_~

But Blue, not feeling right sometimes just feels so... right, you know?

My playing style for Patch is definitely a very pathological one; I would be much like him only if I completely let myself go — where he is a reveler in the moment, my thoughts are often of the future. Where he is himself, I am self-conscious and vicarious. Where I (usually, anyway) feel I have a firm conception of truth, and logic, Patch is left to construct his own history and sense of what's real from glimpses of his past and fabrications which have emerged along the way. Where he is a vagrant, and an addict, I try very hard to stay on track, and although I don't draw those stupid Xs anywhere I am straightedge (I know, I'm a bitch... nono, thank you, please, you are too kind, please!)

His core personality works similarly to mine, but insteadof that being watched and suppressed closely, it is unhinged and unapologetic, most times.

So, in many ways he's a shadow, although in a broad sense he is stronger than me — comfortable with himself, natural, brave, indulgent of all whims — the future doesn't scare him.

It's not every time I'm on Faibanx that I play fully in character, especially when I'm just in the Square, but when I'm not there, odds are I'll be more IC.

Amen, brother.

Of course the character acts out more of his likings than the rl self, not having to care so much about the consequences.
Like those of having wild messy sex with someone, or of growing huge and eating one half the town and pooping on the other. :)
The character doesnt have to worry so much in roleplays, the player knowing its all fantasy and the character living in a worlds where many very weird and very impossible things are natural and OK. Apart from the impression you leave on your rp partner(s), there are no lasting consequences. No commitments, no ill-effects, no people left dead.
I was more referring to... well the character of the character outside from yiffy lusty rp heat.

Amen right back at ya!

I would not be surprised if there were some folks out there, if asked to describe their character beyond their R-rated desires, would think that was impossible. Their credo: "You can't spell PORN without RP!"

How does the saying go... the strongest form of power is that which never needs to be openly displayed? ;)

You sure know how to play, 'em, A.

Whether you're holding aces or not remains to be seen.

So I will see you one astute observation, and raise you my own shock, horror, and chagrin. Thatis unless... well, I see you've been holding onto your chips...

My character fits me well actually.

1/4 Sadism/Masochist
1/4 Macrophile
1/4 Autistic
1/4 Psychopathic

But I'm four quarters of a good person.....
