I got into the beta a while back. Played it for a few days, and haven't gone back. The graphics are almost painful to look at in my opinion, and the game was broken as hell when I was trying to play it. I was always getting stuck in things, quests weren't working, enemies wouldn't die, menu's didn't load, etc. I got bored of it. ^^()

Was it 'furry' though? :)

Couldn't say if it was furry or not. The races were definitely anthropomorphic animals, but I doubt it was intended to be a "furry" game. ^^ Unless of course the developers are furs, in which case then it is a furry game. Its hard to draw that distinction. :3

Hey, thanks for reviving this thread. I've been playing EE for a while now (probably long enough?) and from what I can tell, it's acceptable for a free alternative to WoW, Runescape and the like. Formed a clan? Check. Crafted top-notch gear? Check. Overly long dungeon raid? Check. The quests don't quite feel tedious to the point of tiresome yet, but I know I'm approaching the threshold.

Recently, I've heard of another game with better graphics called Aion. There's only one player "race" but the character customization is apparently on par with Oblivion and Soul Calibur, allowing for famous faces (Cloud Strife, predictable. Barack Obama... what?!) and absolute abominations. However, some folks on YooToob and the EE forums are saying Aion is already dying, despite the NA release (no monthly charge, but retails for $50) being less than two months old. I don't know what to think. BUT ENOUGH ABOUT THAT.

Tombfyre: When I first got into La Tale, there was no such thing as crafting, rendering mining (and a unique item called Cloak Shrapnel) next to useless. So I know what it's like to have the whole game world evolve along with your character, and it feels pretty sweet.

Being a Free MMO junkie. I'll have to try it...

EDIT!

Awwww, I tried it out, but My PC is too weak. i didn't have much trouble in the character creation, but the minute I got into the actual game The Lag attacked with a fierce Tenacity I've only ever seen in rabid dogs, and divorce lawyers.. :sit:

System:
Microsoft Windows XP Pro Verson 2002 Service Pack 3

Intel(R)
Celeron(R) CPU 2.20GHz
2.19 GHz, 1.50 GB of RAM

and a 37.2 GB hardrive, but I'm down to my las 1.91 GB left of that. I want to get another Hardrive, but It's one of those Dell Low profile cases, so I would have to buy an external one, or replace the one i have meaning compleate reinstall of my opperating system, games, and everything ells, so as you can imagion I been putting that off a little...

Check My Documents for a folder called Sparkplay Media. Should be about 263 MB worth in there. I don't think that package is actually necessary to run the game in a standard browser window, but the desktop client runs quite a bit smoother.

Sorry things didn't work out for you. I'll keep this thread updated whenever a patch significantly reduces latency. Still, the server is centered in California, so there's only so far it can reach.

According to TV Tropes, the game was put up for auction in early August of 2010 because the company ran out of money. As of September, the server has apparently shut down. It remains to be seen if the game will return under new management... or at all.

Argh argh argh. :(
