Brad stood there dumbfounded, he couldn't believe what he was seeing.
In all his years on this world he'd never thought he'd see one, but there it was on the news.
He was standing in front of a shop that sells and repairs TV's every last one of them showing something Brad thought of as a myth.
All the local news stations with reporters live on the scene were there, face to foot paw with a Macro fur.
Brad had the urge to go downtown and see for himself, his curiosity over-riding his need for self preservation.
Brad himself was a pretty impressive specimen, standing at 12 feet even of Polar Bear, hunched over to watch the TV's in the store's front window.
Other furs running by heading away from downtown, or driving if they had cars or were in them, yelling and screaming.
This was rather strange as the Macro hadn't really done anything yet, it just walked into the city and the reaction to it being there was from everyone around it. In fact it looked scared as folks panicked and fled from it, as if it was sorry to cause such a fury over being there.
Brad somehow knew it wasn't a danger, he knew how it felt, being in world not really made for it, he himself was viewed as dangerous due to his own height and mass. This Macro was like him only times a hundred or so, only it wasn't a Polar Bear like him, it was a mouse, a white lab kind no less.
To see a mouse fur that towered over other furs was something Brad would never dreamed of in his wildest dreams, yet there it was as big as life.
Brad made up his mind to go downtown.
It was rather difficult to get there as everyone was pushing and shoving to go the other way that Brad was heading. The closer he got to downtown the easier it got as the crowds thinned out closer to the action. However there were police and military types surrounding the mouse.
No wonder he was so scared, there were tanks and missiles aimed right at him, as if he was right out of a monster movie to cause mayhem here. Brad felt sorry for the poor thing all alone here in the city with everyone frightened of him to the point where the had weapons aimed at him, thus frightening him in return.
It looked like a stalemate to Brad. No one seemed to move a muscle for fear of starting something the other might regret later on. The mouse just stood there, and the military just stood there, the news people were the only ones moving, asking questions to the military types, plans on what they would do if the Mouse moved.
Granted what they said is why the Mouse didn't bother to move in the first place.
Brad thought the entire situation was way over blown..... He just noticed something strange..... The ground vibrated slightly..... The mouse was still standing still..... The ground vibrated slightly again..... The military was still standing it's ground.... The ground vibrated yet again.... What was going on here thought Brad..... Just then it got dark as if something was blocking the mid-day sun.... The ground vibrated so much everyone fell on their tails, even the macro mouse....
Brad slowly turned around, what he saw next made him feel quite small indeed. For there, not even IN the city at all, stood what could only be described as a living mountain. A titanically huge black wolf, built like he could rip the planet apart with his bare hand paws.
Brad looked back toward the mouse who had the look of someone who was caught in headlights or searchlights, a look of disbelief on his face, granted everyone else there also had that look on their faces. Brad did as well, for he was the first to turn around and see this wolf standing there.
It was standing, but now it was squatting, it didn't look like it was as it still looked as big as ever. Brads eyes followed the legs of this living mountain to his foot paws, each one was planted right outside the city limits. The roads under them and near them looked like lines next to them, not like roads at all.
Brad gulped. This wolf was beyond huge in his book. He could of wiped out the city in one step alone, yet he didn't, he was looking down at them all, a look of disapproval on his massive muzzle as if to say what Brad was thinking before that this whole situation was wrong.
The wolf didn't have to say a word, the military backed away from the mouse. Message received, LOUD AND CLEAR, the news reporters also took a hint and made their way back to the newsrooms they came from. That just left Brad, The Mouse, and this ungodly gigantic wolf.
Brad could hear his heart racing like mad as the wolf, just reached down and extracted the Mouse with two fingers, gently lifting him out of the city as if it was no big deal. Brad stood there for the longest time just taking this all in. The wolf stood up, turned around, then walked away.
Brad listened to the thudding of those great foot paws as the wolf returned to where he came from, it was like some crazy dream or nightmare, depending on ones point of view. Brad snapped out of his trance once the wolf vanished over the horizon in the distance.
Brad had half the mind to follow.
That however is another story to tell next time.
The End
