...is Carmen Sandiego? (Sorry, it had to be said)

Back on topic, time heals all wounds, so it goes. Got any new art to upload? We appreciate doodles of all sizes and styles here. Just because we have a half-dozen regulars of considerable repute doesn't mean we hold any sort of standard, as Sir Speck will tell you.

Diablo, I'm hoping you'll see this message. Lately I've been having issues with your newer animations. When I download them, I can't get them to play on quicktime or WindowsMediaPlayer. My solution was to convert them using a converter which so far has worked. But, I wanted to know if I'm using the wrong media players to begin with. A little help, please?

Well I'm sure any player will do fine, but you'll need the right codec - I mostly use xvid, but some animations might have others!

Your best bet would be to download one of the codec packs (I'd recommend CCCP) and install a bunch of them.

Another option, which I'm finding more and more favorable, is to just download VLC Media Player. It eliminates the need for codec packs because it contains built-in support for all the popular formats. I used to use the K-Lite Codec Pack myself, but lately it's been buggy playing music MP3's and honestly just isn't worth the bloat just to watch a view videos and play music.

I can only second that.
I tried codec packs, and they ended up sucking, not being compatible with the player you want to use, not being compatible with the file format or lacking just that one codec the video you want to watch right now, messing up with the codecs you had before, thus messing up the stuff that worked well before, not properly uninstalling, messing up with the remains of the last codec pack that didnt work right, ...
Way too much of a hassle.
Use VCL, and if that doesnt run a video, it at least didnt meddle with the other players and their codecs you had before.

That's probably the most common question that refers to LD5 as well. :)

We're still around, and in some cases, round. ^..^ :munch:

And both are likely to remain true for a long while. :D
