Diablo rumbles to a halt and looks around the new clearing he has made, his jaws open a little as he pants from the exertion. His wounded hind foot throbs painfully, but he is pleased to see that the forest around him has come off far worse. It was worth it, he decides. Snapped, splintered tree trunks lay all around him and a mass of smashed-apart branches carpeted the whole area, all thoroughly torn apart and trampled deep into the soft ground. He looks down and sees a smear of blood splattered under one of his feet. With a satisfied rumble, he lifts the massive limb and searches the ground beneath it for the body of his foolish little victim. He hadn’t felt the familiar crunch and warm squish, but then he had been so busy smashing stuff it was probably no wonder. But nothing was there. Just leaves and muddy branches.

He snorts and puts his foot back down, then a stab of sharp pain streaks up his leg and he realises that the blood is his own; it was seeping out of his wounded clawfoot, thanks to the rex rampage. Carefully he shifts his weight onto that foot, testing it. It hurts and makes him cross so he lifts it up again. For a few seconds he stands there on one leg, looking around the clearing and wondering what to do; then he hears a snapping and rustling of leaves from a few yards to his left, and a shriek slices through the noise of the moving debris. He puts his foot down and crunches over to finish off his prey, limping slightly and wondering how much pain the human must be in to make a noise like that.

Diablo towers over the broken foliage, peering down into it. He must have trampled over the creature at least once after all that. He was expecting to see crushed bones and a crumpled posture. He was expecting the scent of fresh mammal blood and maybe a little weak twitching so as to make the final kill feel more meaningful. What he wasn’t expecting was to have a fully formed, freshly healed velociraptor burst out of the ground at high speed and violently attach itself to his face. Raptor scent fills his nostrils, Raptor screech fills his head and the shocked rex rears back and shakes his head about, instinctively screwing his eyes closed as he feels claws digging painfully in around his scaly muzzle.

If Diablo had been familiar with the Alien movies, he would probably have clamped his jaws shut to make sure no parasitic organisms were thrust down his throat to settle somewhere inside him and then burst rudely out of his chest after a few days of suspenseful gestation. But he wasn’t, so he springs open his massive maw, tearing his lower jaw free from Zed’s grip and does his utmost to sink several dozen huge, creamy-white teeth into his new attacker.

As Zed’s foot claws are ripped out of Diablo’s chin, the raptor reflexively hugs himself to the huge scaly snout, scrabbling his legs about to try and get them out of range of the suddenly snapping jaws. Diablo feels a small tail thwacking against the side of his muzzle and something warm and wet trickles down his chin. Surprise becomes rage and he roars in fury, violently shaking his head about in a determined effort to fling this obscene creature from him and smash it into a tree.

The G force generated by the swinging, lunging, head-banging T-Rex is substantial, but Zed manages to haul his flailing legs in and nimbly dig his foot claws into Diablo’s upper muzzle, keeping himself firmly attached. Still blind through choice, Diablo doesn’t want to open his eyes and expose them to the raptor’s claws, knowing that one of these could easily blind him. The big rex decides against running around until he smashes headfirst into a tree, so instead he uses his short range gripping tool to try and dislodge the raptor.

A huge, hot, wet something slaps up against Zed’s back, touching his legs and directing hot breath up around them. It snakes about and feels him, then quickly begins to curl around the raptor’s waist, coating him in saliva.

Zed was not completely healed. Even though his scratches were gone thanks to the transformation, he realizes that Diablo’s maniacal trampling has injured his left arm and this is a wound his shapeshifting can’t regenerate. It’s not broken, but something is definitely not right with it. He felt a sharp pain in his arm just as he raised it in midair to dig all of his claws into his opponents face. He actually planned to let out a scream to confuse the Rex but it turned out louder then it should have been thanks to the pain coming from his arm.

If Zed would think about it he would remember that during Diablo’s rage, there was a time when he saw the sole coming down on him again and in reflex he put his arm up, trying in vain to keep the weight off from his body. However this useless little reaction did nothing to stop the raging Rex. The relentless foot bent it in a rather unhealthy way and as he was petrified in his shock, he didn’t realize it until now. This handicap could easily be his demise in this fight.

However Zed can take some pain and he still has his target in view. He wanted to jump at his throat and rip it out with one bite or slash but he “just” hits his muzzle, letting out an “Eep”, as his injured arm slaps against the broad snout of the Rex. However all his claws on the other three limbs find a softer spot on his muzzle to dig into the flesh and the raptor does exactly that: Pushing them in as deep as possible to get a grip. He really looks like one of the little suckers in the alien movie right now, clinging onto the tip of Diablo’s muzzle. His belly is hanging right over the bigger dino’s nostrils, while the claws on his right handpaw dig into the area just below his eyeridge. He has even managed to get a hold with his left handpaw somewhere near Diablo’s nostrils, to keep it from dangling, what would cause him even more pain. The raptors sickle claws were pushed into his chin, leaving two rather big bleeding holes in it and Zed laughs like crazy: “Haha… not what you expected, huh? Haha… I’m going to slice your little eyes out!”

Diablo can feel how Zed’s right arm tries to claw at his closed eye, but he is too far away and barely manages to slash the beginning of his eyeridge a bit. Just then Zed lets out an “Eeeep!” as Diablo opens his mouth, pushing Zed’s footclaws out of his chin with that movement. His feet are dangling in front of the Rexes open maw now, that tries to grab them and suck him into his mouth. Zed eeps and gasps as he tries to pull them up to his body somehow and in fact he’s pretty lucky that Diablo doesn’t get the idea to lift his head up. Would he do that, the raptor’s legs would hang directly into his maw and this would probably be his end.

During his tries to move the feet out of the danger he actually steps onto the Rexes lower lip, even touching his teeth with his own claws and uses the upward motion, when Diablo slams his jaws together to get his legs onto the upper part of his muzzle as well, digging his talons into the side of his muzzle.

Zed is hanging there now in a rather awkward position. He almost looks like a frog with a tail. Despite of that the little raptor grins and starts to slash at his muzzle again with everything he has. He even tries to bite his snout, but his maw just isn’t big enough to get a grip on it, and so he just salivates on Diablo’s nose during his tries.

However, all his actions come to a stop as Diablo starts to shake his muzzle violently, forcing Zed to hang on for his life. Zed screeches in fear and digs his claw deeper into the flesh beneath him to avoid being thrown off, almost like a cat would in a situation like this.

The only thing that’s still flailing around now is Zed’s tail which brushes over Diablo’s lips, leaving a rather nice raptor-taste there. The green reptile soon realizes that Diablo can’t shake him off and laughs: “Can’t get me off. Don’t you wish that you have bigger arms right now? Hahaha….” and as soon as Diablo’s movement slow down a bit, the Rex can feel how the raptor climbs upwards, his right paw actually grabbing his eyeridge and pulling himself further up. The thief really plans to blind him it seems.

But before he can do anything, the lizard feels something hot and slimy curling around his waist. Zed raises an eyeridge and turns his head to look back what is happening there. As soon as he realizes that it is indeed Diablo’s tongue that is wrapping around him like some wicked tentacle he panics and starts to kick out with his feet, leaving a few more nasty scratches on the larger dinos snout. As he wriggles and squirms he seems to forget about his tail because it actually starts to sway into Diablos open maw now, while he screeches: “Aaah… stop that! Get this thing away from me!”

Once again Diablo is disinclined to comply. The scratches and clawed kicks impact painfully against his battle-scarred snout and he snorts in determination, gripping his dexterous tongue firmly around Zed’s middle and pulling down against him with alarming strength. As he strains to yank the screeching saur off his muzzle, dug-in claws scratch and tear at his sensitive facial scales and he lets out pained grunt after grunt. The flavour of the raptor fills his maw, adding to his blind determination. He begins shaking his head violently up and down and this movement, coupled with the tugging tongue quickly yields results. With a furious snarl the rex rips Zed off his muzzle and quickly pulls the struggling raptor into his jaws.

Diablo prises open his eyes and is relieved to find them both still intact, but blood obscures one. The front of his muzzle was burning with pain and understandably so. One eyeridge has received a deep gash from which blood trickles down behind his eye, seeping into the corner of the large yellow orb and messing with his vision until he blinks it away. His snout bears six long slashes from Zed’s gripping fore claws, and his muzzle tip, lower jaw and scaly lips are a mass of cuts and scratches. The trickles of dark blood merge together here and there, running down the rex’s pale underside like war paint. Diablo is not a happy dinosaur.

Which is probably only fair, because Zed most likely isn’t either. Intense heat suddenly surrounds the raptor as he is forcibly hauled between the jaws of the much larger reptilian predator. The rex’s huge tongue slides off him and a multitude of lethally sharp and powerful teeth clamp against him, piercing his body in numerous places, but curiously (from a standard T-Rex battle tactics point of view), not punching straight through him.

Diablo feels grim satisfaction as warm blood seeps into his maw. Its taste is deeply enticing, and the wild, constricted struggling between his jaws makes him fight to withhold a rumble of heartfelt satisfaction. His urge to crunch down on the infuriating little creature is almost overwhelming, but anger overrides his instinct. He didn’t want to kill it straight away. He had had a really bad day with stabs in his neck, branches crashing on his back, an exhausting chase and rampage in a dense forest, and now his face stung like crazy and he had probably lost his human thanks to this raptor! He was going to make it suffer.

The tyrannosaur stretches his neck to the side, then with a deafening, savage roar he swings his head, flinging the tasty dinosaur through the air to the other side of the clearing, where it lands and rolls in the broken vegetation. Diablo growls deeply and limps off in pursuit.

Zed is trying to hold on, but Diablo is bleeding too now, and his snout was getting slippery. A few seconds and some violent shakes of his muzzle later the raptor loses his grip and the tongue quickly pulls him into the open maw. Diablo gets another nice taste of raptor inside his muzzle, even though it’s mixed with a new flavour now and the T-Rex knows this one all to well… It is the flavour of fear...

And indeed inside Zed’s chest his little heart is beating like an air-hammer right now. He knows where he is and that’s enough that the raptor almost loses his mind in fear and panic. For a moment he even sees down into that dark throat as almost his whole body is hauled in. Of course he is a bit too big to fit fully in and so Diablo moves him about with his tongue until he lies right between his jaws, his head sticking out on one side and the flailing legs on the other side of his muzzle, where they can’t do any damage. Zed tries to free himself, his arms moving around somewhere in the larger reptile’s maw and his screech turns into an almost rodent-like squeal. He’s not able to think rational anymore, now that only a simply bite means the difference between life and death for him.

And then Diablo brings his jaws slightly together and just as the rex does that Zed screams one more time and his struggles increase even more. He feels blood running down his body from several wounds the sharp teeth caused as he took a small, almost gentle bite, but it’s enough, that new waves of terror and pain flood through the raptor’s mind.

One of his paws starts to beat uselessly against Diablo’s teeth, trying to pry it open but of course the small being isn’t strong enough. All he does is spreading more of his blood inside the huge maw, what almost drives the rex insane. Zed doesn’t know what goes on in Diablo’s mind and he wouldn’t have expected him to know something so complex like “Revenge”. He thought he will eat him now and finish him but he was so wrong.

Diablo yanks his head to a side and the injured raptor flies through the air doing a few loopings before he lands with a rather loud “Crack”. There is no doubt that at least some bones are broken, as the paralyzed raptor wakes up again and tries to sit up. A second later he yelps and starts to writhe on the ground obviously in pain and not from the several wounds on his body. However as soon as he sees the Rex coming for him to crush him like an insect and end his existence in this world, the raptor starts to crawls away. Realizing that he is much too slow in his injured condition he lowers his gaze to the trampled treetop where he is lying and tries to dive headfirst into it, looking almost like a little mouse which is trying to get back into its hole when the cat comes. He survived there the last time. Maybe the same trick works again.

But the problem is, this time he gets stuck. He is inside the treetop up to his waist, but his lower body doesn’t fit into it somehow. His green behind is in the air and his feet and tail kick and flail about as he tries to slip into his hideout.

Diablo swallows down the pleasant raptor taste and narrows his eyes as he sees Zed roll over at the other side of the clearing and start to crawl away. He quickens his pace, ignoring the stinging pain in his clawfoot and breaks into a trot. The raptor obviously wasn’t going to outrun him, but the thought of it scurrying away into obscurity under all the vegetation irritated him. He had already lost one tasty bipedal snack that way and he was damned if he would lose another.

Diablo is, of course, the Spanish for Devil, so ironically enough he was probably damned whether or not Zed escaped into the undergrowth, which he did.

An exasperated snort rolls forth from Diablo’s snout and he bounds forwards as he sees the front half of his intended prey vanish down into the carpet of broken trees. But this is as far as the raptor gets before his hips snag between two branches and wedge him inconveniently upside down, leaving his hind half almost comically exposed above the ground, his legs kicking and his tail writhing about like a dropped hosepipe under high pressure.

The rex slows to a halt and pads over to Zed, feeling a smile tug at his stinging muzzle. With casual interest he lowers his head and examines the wedged raptor at his feet, watching its wild struggling with interest. He tilts his head to the side and peers down into the smashed vegetation around the small flailing body. Where was he hoping to go? Even if he managed to slip down beside the tree there was nowhere to escape to from there. Diablo could easily climb on top and trample him to death under the heavy branches. The rex lifts a massive hind paw and decides to press Zed down into his intended hidey hole to demonstrate this, but then he realises that this would just make fishing out his tasty prize more difficult once he had finished his demonstrating. He pauses for a moment in thought. No, he was going to keep it out of the vegetation from now on. Carefully, he brings his foot forward and lowers it a little, pushing the pads of his viciously clawed toes to Zed’s vertical back and feeling the raptor tense and go momentarily still against them. You know I could if I wanted to…

Diablo rumbles meaningfully and puts his clawfoot down, then goes slowly into a crouch and stretches his neck out, turning his head sideways so his scaled cheek brushes against the carpet of leaves. With a deep, malevolent growl, he reaches out and neatly takes the struggling raptor in his jaws again, pulling him free from between the branches with a little tug and straightening up to his full height.

Again the powerful instinct to bite down pounds at his mind, but Diablo dutifully resists it. There was no point in rushing a good thing. He allows his jaw muscles to clench a tiny bit, causing his teeth to teeth to sink slightly into the softer scales between them here and there, just enough to draw out a few more warm trickles of blood, which the rex slowly, deliberately laps up.

With a flip of his head, Diablo tosses Zed straight up into the air. He looks up and blinks blood from his eye again, taking careful aim at the airborne raptor before darting his neck out and catching it again in his huge jaws. The unavoidable impact over two rows of rex teeth is probably a highly painful and damaging one, but the blood-streaked, limping tyrannosaur isn’t in a very compassionate mood at the moment and he unhesitatingly flings Zed up again for another catch. Diablo repeats this a couple of times. He never bites down enough to crush the bones of his much smaller opponent, but the toothy impacts alone are enough to puncture and rip the raptor’s hide. With each catch, Diablo bites down a little and thoroughly runs his warm tongue over Zed’s back and underside, eagerly lapping any blood from the raptor before tossing him up again.

It is clearly visible to the Rex that Zed is panicking once again and tries to crawl out from there. However it seems that the raptor can’t move backwards either. He has tried to stuff himself into the small opening too fiercely and now he isn’t able to move even an inch. The raptor yelps again as the booming footsteps come closer and even though he can’t see him while his head is underneath the leaves of the tree-tops, he knows very well, that Diablo has reached the spot where he is stuck, after everything around him gets quiet.

“He’s waiting there! Looking down at me while I’m at his mercy!” Zed thinks and after a few seconds Diablo does what Zed expects him to do. A huge foot is placed upon his lower body almost gently and the green reptile closes his eyes guessing that the Rex will finish it now, flattening the raptor together with the rest of the treetop. However the quick merciful death doesn’t come. Instead Diablo removes his claw-foot and steps off from him. Zed doesn’t understand what he is doing. Can it be? Does he have mercy? Will he let him go?

But this small hope is crushed soon as he feels the jaws closing on his waist. Zed yelps and kicks around with his feet in the maw, scratching the insides of Diablo’s mouth a bit until he fully pulls him out of the fallen trees and sucks him into his mouth. Zed is once again in his jaws, yelping and whimpering as Diablo starts chewing him slightly, more blood-drops land on the larger dinos tongue, which really seems to enjoy the taste of warm raptor-blood.

Zed lets out a pitiful meep as the T-Rex starts to toy with his catch. He flings him up into the air just to thrust his muzzle into his direction and catch him again, snatching him out of the air. Zed can’t help but think about a dog that is fetching a stick. Oh yeah… here he is, a green tasty stick for the dog called “Rex”. Zed gets caught in many different ways and after a while his whole body has these small holes in it, when Diablo’s teeth penetrated him. Most painful probably were the ones he has gotten after his head was caught between the rows of teeth. Zed has to realize it: There is no chance to leave this fight as a winner anymore, maybe not even alive. Diablo doesn’t seem to see him as a threat anymore, he is a mere chew-toy now, something to play around with and something he could break anytime.

However there is still a fighter left in the raptor. As Diablo continues to humiliate him in this way, Zed actually uses the few seconds in the air to concentrate on his regeneration. He is always brutally interrupted by the jaws that catch him again, but even though the short time he has isn’t enough to close his wounds, it’s still enough to take away his exhaustion.

Zed doubts he can win here anymore… but maybe he is able to flee somehow. Diablo doesn’t expect him to fight back… but that’s what Zed does the next time, when he is thrown through the air… just as Diablo opens his jaws again, the raptor uses his tail to move forward a bit and instead of falling into his maw again, he lands exactly on the blunt nose of the Rex. Before the surprised Rex can react to this new situation, Zed already starts to slip down over his muzzle and back-head. He tries to get a swipe at his eye again as he passes it but only manages to scratch his eyeridge again with his good hand. He slides down fast on his back, even pushing the knife out of Diablos back which was still stuck there.

Zed eeps and screeches as he fumbles on Diablos hide, trying to dig his foot-claws into his back to get a hold and stop his downward motion. However this seems to be tricky in his position. Zed is sliding down headfirst and the curve of his sickle-claws is working against him right now. And still somehow he manages to stop his sliding and get a hold on his opponent by spreading his arms and legs and thrusting his claws into his sides. If there wouldn’t be all this blood on Diablos back and Zed’s whole body it would be a rather comical sight. Zed almost looks as if he is trying to give the larger dinos back a friendly hug. The raptor is breathing heavily, his head is lying right on the part where Diablos tail starts. Zed is straining to keep himself attached like a leech and still he tries one more time to regenerate. He closes his eyes and concentrates, while he is lying upside down on his opponents back.

Diablo feels irritation build up in him again as his neck begins to twinge painfully whenever he tosses Zed into the air. It was a shame. He was enjoying this game and he felt that it probably improved his mouth-eye coordination, which was a vital skill for any T-Rex. Multitasking, in contrast, is not a vital skill for a T-Rex – and most T-Rexes aren’t very good at it. So Diablo’s overall efficiency level drops steadily as things start to build up in his mind – the throwing and catching of Zed, the growing pain in the back of his neck and the question of what he should do about the pain. His eyes go slightly glazed as he struggles with this last one.

Conveniently for him, all three concerns are lifted from his mind as Zed nimbly lunges forward, altering his trajectory and landing with a soft flump over Diablo’s tilted snout. The bottleneck of mental information sorts itself out and Diablo comes back to his senses with a surprised growl. He sees a claw swipe wildly at his eye, catching his thick eyeridge before disappearing out of range behind his big saurian head as Zed slides down his neck.

Diablo roars angrily. It was all going wrong! He starts to curl his neck around to grab the raptor as he feels Zed hug firmly to the back of his hips, but a harsh pain stops him. He twists around and tries to bend his neck around the other way, but is stopped by the pain again. His neck was all messed up. Where was rex rage when you needed it? Diablo goes stiff and bucks up and down like a seesaw, feeling his already severely depleted energy vanishing fast. He would finish off this raptor if it killed him. He could feel its claws sticking into his sides, digging into the thick scales like annoying barbs.

He tries his tail instead. It was dexterous and nimble; being almost solid muscle, but he just couldn’t quite reach its own base and pluck the unwanted passenger off him. Diablo’s solid tail tip swings rhythmically back and forth towards Zed, curling right up and even managing to slap and poke the raptor occasionally, but never getting close enough to push underneath him or curl around him. A furious, breathy snort indicates Diablo’s displeasure at the situation, and the massive rex suddenly buckles dangerously underneath Zed.

There was no way that Diablo would allow something as green as a raptor remain on something as red as his tail base – they just didn’t match. The rex does the one remaining thing he can think of to remove his clingy little opponent without heaving himself back into the forest. He collapses onto his side with a massive ground-shaking WHUMP and twists his hips to the side, rolling himself right over from one flank to the other. The vegetation cracks and smashes and splinters under his seven tons of spread-out weight as he rolls relentlessly over the area, sprawling completely and looking bizarrely, energetically young and playful for a creature of his size and shape.

In fact, rolling about in this way is an extremely therapeutic and pleasurable experience for any T-Rex – it takes up a lot of energy, but it feels almost unbearably wonderful against the scales and it completely and utterly obliterates any itches that a rex might be suffering. Diablo rolls about like some possessed demolition machine, snuffling and grunting and steamrolling anything under him deep into the soft, trampled ground. If it wasn’t for the stinging pains he gets in his back, he might forget the aim of the exercise completely and just roll about for the pleasure of it. But with each movement, the rex feels snakes of pain sear through his massive body and this focuses his mind on one thing: blind, frenzied raptor crushing!

After a few hefty rolls this way and that, Diablo lifts a hind leg and throws the huge limb to one side, rolling himself neatly onto his front again with the momentum. He pushes up into a crouch and looks around the flattened broken floor of his rolling patch. The scent of blood was everywhere, but most of it smelled like his own. He peers around for signs of movement and listens intently. The raptor had better not have eluded him again or there would be trouble. He noses down at a broken branch and huffs some breath from his nostrils, sending leaves scattering.

Alright, finally getting my lazy bum down to judging these fights...bah...
Also, i'm tweaking the judging process abit since it's the second round.

Length - Zed, by a slim margin of a couple hundred words. Considering the absolute horrific length of your posts, a couple hundred words is actually a very slim margin. Kudos to the pro sparrers.
Zed is the winner

Vocab - To tell the truth, I copy and pasted into word and looked at strange and/or long unusual words. Diablo wins this section. I liked his used of varied words. Zed, you can try to multivariable your vocabulary abit to try to generate a more stunning effect, but still good.
Diablo is the winner

Flow - Very very stright, taut tie. I can't believe how well both your spars flowed, especially linking from one post to the next from your opponent's. It was almost flawless. I love it, give me more, I say, more!
Tie

Spelling/grammar - Wow...very close. I actually couldn't count red marks this time because of "eyeridge" and "clawfoot" and stuff like that. Plus I had to account for the British way of spelling "color" and "flavor." Damn America, always wanna do things different. But Zed, you need to remember to put apostrophes in ^_^.
Diablo is the winner

Out of the four categories, no tie breaker was needed.

Diablo wins the overall spar.

Congratulations Rexie, you advance to the next and final round of the tournament!

((Congratulations, Rexie! You deserved it! =) ))

Zed starts laughing hysterically as he notices that the Rex can’t get him off, no matter how hard he tries. He is bucking up beneath him, swinging his tail around in anger but even though it touches him a few times, he isn’t able to get the annoying raptor off. Like an insect he clings onto him. His claws have penetrated his hide by now and he even tries to push them in deeper. Even though Zed is weak from all the torture he has been through, he also notices that the Rex is bleeding as well. And here on his back, he actually has time to use his regeneration-skills again… There is a lot of blood running down his back and for some moment Zed feels proud. The Rex is getting tired and he… he is getting stronger again.

Zed is squealing in joy and shouting out almost hysterically: “You’ll bleed to death, monster… You’ll get weaker every second. And when you finally break down, I’ll bite your neck and put you out of your misery… Zed, the Rex-Slayer! How does this sound to you? Yes, Zed is my name! Remember it for the last few moments of your life… I will…”

Zed stops as the Rex falls to his side. Dead already? Can’t be...he thinks. But it soon dawns on him what Diablo has in mind. However it was too late for any kind of reaction now. The Rex rolls over to his other side and the raptor gets squeezed between the massive body and the ground below. For a moment his claws are dug even deeper into the Rexes back but as his roll comes to an end, Zed was still on his back, even though it seems more that he is stuck to it, than actually clinging to it. The raptor is howling in pain now and desperately trying to get off but before he is able to do anything, Diablo rolls back. A sick “Crack”-sound echoes through the clearing and Zed actually falls off from his back after this one. “Nnnnngh!” The green reptile is obviously in great pain, as he tries to crawl out of the danger-zone. However, after a few seconds Diablo is on top of him again. The next few minutes are extremely painful for the poor raptor and he feels as if he is under a rolling pin. A few times he almost vomits his guts out but the relatively soft surface prevents him from dying too early. But maybe that would have been a better fate than what he will be suffering in a few minutes. Bones crack and crumble under the weight as the Rex almost squashes the raptor. There is no doubt now that Zed won’t be able to get up again. After Diablo finishes and gets up again, Zed is imprinted into the ground, twitching slightly while the visible eye is looking around aimlessly. Blood is running out of his nostrils and mouth and he is a rather pitiful sight at the moment. Zed is breathing heavily through his wide-open snout, unable to make any noise in his panicked state. It’s clear that this is the end of the fight.

(Thanks for a really fun fight, Zed!  I don't think I'll be able to start any more rounds though, Timanth - my workload is going to rocket in the next couple of weeks )

A heaving breath catches Diablo’s attention and the hulking rex shuffles backwards a couple of careful steps, dipping his head to investigate. A surge of satisfaction flows through him and sweeps away the pain of his battle wounds like puffs of smoke in a breeze. There, lying pressed deep into the trampled ground is his raptory opponent, twitching slightly and looking panicked, bloody and generally displeased with the situation. The tyrannosaur pushes himself up into a standing position and rumbles deeply, his yellow eyes roaming all over the contorted body at his huge clawed feet. Based on the crumpled posture of the smaller dinosaur he must have scored several direct hits with his frenzied rolling, even though he hadn’t heard of felt anything to indicate this. As much as it is possible for a T-Rex to do so, Diablo smiles. His large fangs poke out from between his scaled lips even more than usual and his eyes narrow in malicious pleasure.

The thought crosses his mind that he shouldn’t waste a good meal, but he doesn’t like the idea of digging his prey out of the mud before eating it, so instead he just steps forward and puts a foot on Zed to finish the raptor off. There was still a human to find out there in the wreckage, he remembers. That would be good enough until he got out of this stupid forest and found some bigger prey to hunt on the plains. Diablo looks down and begins stomping heavily on the small dinosaur, pumping his powerful hind limb rhythmically up and down until he feels hot wet splashes against his sole pads with each pounding, crunching impact.
