Music means different things to different people, but when a song invokes imagery of godzilla-esque destruction, scenarios from mecha-animes or verse that can be interpeted literally as some other similar destructive fetish: I of course, can't help but think of such scenarios instead of the metaphors for which these things are probably intended by the artist to mean.

So here's a list of a bunch of songs that seem like they are just perfect soundtrack for this type of thing: (BTW, this covers a broad range of styles of music. But mostly rock/ indie-rock and techno/synth rock)

Ladytron- "Destroy Everything You Touch" (the lyrics are frighteningly perfect for this)
Jacksons United- "Lion's Roar" (Should have been the theme song for the American version of Zoids: Chaotic Century. It fits SOOOO well.)
Flaming Lips- "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" (This one is obvious)
Cage and Aesop Rock- "Weathermen Gang" (Yes, I know it may be hip-hop, BUT they do mention rampaging around New York in mechanical lions. Yet another ZCC invokation for me)
M83- "Sitting" (I have no idea why this makes me think of running dinosaurs. Since it has no lyrics, but it's some good, very solid spacey electronica.)
The Stranglers- "Death and Night and Blood" (The perfect music for Ahastar and Diablo's smash/vore stuff. Absolutely perfect. I doubt there is anything else more fitting )

also by the same band: "Bring on the Nubiles" is hillarious, yet doesn't really evoke much of an image for me. Yet I could see how it might for others :p
