A somewhat belated New Year's episode. It has Snow! Or.. not?
Anyhow, i like it, and Denare did too, and so did Maksio, so here it finally is.
Enjoy.

You know what's funny? I've had this idea sitting in my head for one and a half herkin years but was too lazy to do ANYTHING about it. I'm glad someone's thinking along the same lines I am.

Always knew i didn't belong in this world. I wasn't made for this. But I'll never forget- those who betrayed me, and those who never failed my trust. I'll be carrying nothing but this lesson: never trust anyone and rely on your instincts. Forget the past. I'll never find peace here. So, I'll seek justice for myself. I'll choose the truth I like.

I seriously want to know how you make such great expression with so few pixels, Blue.

This is easily one of your best!

Thank yous.
-Oh, that's easy Diablo, i just have to make it SO few pixels that i can try out every possible combination and take the one that surprisingly works. But yes, it is also lots of training, due to having to do all of the comics myself lately, which brings me to the second point... But i still am amazed of those who can draw an actual facial expression on a scaly or furry. My deep and sincere admiration to those. Who can draw.

And Timanth, i would always love you doing another episode too. And honestly, the joke is lame and simple, everyone into macros has thought of it already, dont you think?

I'm glad you like it, and yes, that dragon IS Denare, for those who didnt already guess. It is 100% Denare approved even. And that scaly in the urban camo is supposed to be Maksio, did the best the pixels allowed there Maksio, and yes, that is of course why i asked both of them if they liked it first.

But, Blue...you CAN draw.

You won't stop dissing your style, so we won't stop calling you an artist!

Great job!

Also, perhaps one of the *reasons* everyone likes it is because they're like, "YES! Exactly! Somebody finally did that one! I've been waiting, but nobody did it!" Or something like that. ^_^

Too many artists who are either lazy, or really overly busy with rl to be drawing everything that crosses their mind. You certainly aren't lazy, I'll give you that. ^_^

The map, comics, helping new folks and giving people homes...you're dedicated!

And, as for your importance to the MUCK...

You also have the motivation, care for Faibanx, and you put effort into making it friendly and comfortable for everyone! And you do, when giving people homes and such.

You could at *least* be counted as helpstaff, but I personally consider you more than that...

And you got the prize medal from '05's anniversary to prove it. ^_^

*bows and nodnods to most of that*
Thank you, but i can pixel, not draw. While it still maybe art, and most likely is, it still isnt drawing though. And it only works if things are really teeny tiny. I CAN draw a bit, with pencil and paper, but only technical things, nothing organic, and i never could do anything furry-related i guess. Perhaps that may change some time, when in new rooms, but not right now.

And yes, I should be listed as helpstaff. I just dont know any MUCK code that exceeds building, so i can usually just point people to someone else who might know usually. I just have been given the capabilities needed to help building, which is what i gladly do.
Thank you.

PS: I am amazed myself how many pixels pictures i've done and uploaded so far, and how nice most of them turned out.

Ok...but Blue!

You started out with the map. Set-size tiles, if I'm right. THOSE are always designed to be tiny.

Then you started the comic. At first, most furs were rather generic, and also, small, like nearly fitting within the space a map-building usually takes up.

Over time, when it came to drawing macros, you started drawing larger and larger.

You've exhibited an at *least* basic understanding of musculature, you have overlap, you have expression, hair, horns, and everything looks appropriately 3D when you look at it, even without much shading.

Now. It may be drawn pixel-by-pixel. It may be tiny, and blocky since you draw it at half size you post it at and then enlarge it.

However, the lines you *choose*, regardless of creation method, are what's important. And...you have chosen wisely. *bows solemnly* ^_~ (So, what? Is Indiana Jones now immortal? And his dad? Sorry, off-topic. ^_^)

You draw. You create lines, shapes, and choose colors to fill in that appropriately and visibly represent the things you're drawing.

You draw inorganic shapes such as buildings, cranes, Patashu...^_^ And you do those well.

And you draw organic shapes such as Denare in this, your latest, very well.

You've gotten even artists' approval on your renditions of them. Does that not make you an artist?

There's the whole joke about ar-teests and their snubby ways, but really. An 'artist' is anyone who uses ANY medium to create a visual, written, auditory, or any other type of image that can be recognized and spur memory and perhaps emotion related to the imagery presented. This is my definition, by the way. ^_^ I have no idea how it matches to any dictionary or thesaurus. ^_~

So, you, without the 'snubby' package, are most definitely an artist. You produce images recognizably that stir memory and emotion!

People understand, react to, and appriciate your pictures! You draw, you're an artist!

If drawing pixel-by-pixel isn't 'drawing', then no Oekaki is drawing. Because the difference between what you're doing and most oekaki (except other pixel art, which I do respect greatly for its care and accuracy) is that in most oekaki, a program is doing FOR the artist what you're doing by hand. They simply have a method that's more familiar and similar to drawing on paper, whereas your method requires creating the lines from scratch in a rather annoying and difficult - but precise - method.

It's like you're CAD drawing, without any Auto- or The 'Aided' part. It's just 'Computer Drawing'. And it deserves more respect than you're willing to give yourself. ^_^
